I have been a competing in various shotgun sports my whole life from ATA trap and very heavily in the National Sporting Clays Association for the last 10 years shooting 20k rounds a year. I hold a class rank in the NSCA of Master class. Specializing in beginners to Master class level instruction. I also have a passion for all types of wing shooting and offer wing shooting instruction as well. Individual or group lessons available.

Jake Christiansen has 14 years of experience teaching firearm courses and is certified to teach with pistols, shotguns and rifles.
Jake currently holds a Federal Firearms License and is partnered with Guffy’s Guns in Hailey, ID. His passion and expertise lies within long range rifles- custom builds, gun smithing, and long range lessons.
Jake has formally shot in the National Sporting Clays Association and has also professionally shot in the Precision Rifle Series, in which he holds the 2025 regional first place title in the production class.

Pistol, Carbine and Long Range Precision Rifle I am a lifelong resident of the Wood River Valley. My first shooting experiences were in the mid-1970’s at the old Sun Valley Gun Club with Ben Hurtig as my instructor. In the years since I have enjoyed hunting, fishing and adventuring in the mountains of Idaho and beyond. Improving my shooting skill level through deliberate practice and education has been a focus for over 2 decades. Family is my #1 priority with shooting and outdoor experiences as my go-to passions. I am a nationally registered EMT and Firefighter for the Sun Valley Fire Department. My focus as a firearms instructor is to assist shooters in being proficient in all aspects of practical shooting. This includes basic foundational skills such as firearm safety, body position, grip, sight confirmation and trigger manipulation for both pistol and carbine. I believe learning to handle firearms safely, quickly and accurately should be a priority for all gun owners.
